Bluegrass Ceili Academy

Founded in Lexington, Kentucky in 2015 by Megan Moloney, TMRF, Bluegrass Ceili Academy is Central Kentucky's community-based Irish Dance school, offering traditional Irish Dance instruction for students age 5 through adult.

Bluegrass Ceili Academy is dedicated to sharing Irish Dance and culture through classes, competition, performance and community outreach. The academy welcomes dancers who want to experience Irish Dance recreationally as well as those interested in competitive opportunities, with a particular strength in traditional céilí and team dancing.

Megan brings extensive experience as an Irish Dance teacher, choreographer and performer. She began Irish Dancing as an adult and later earned her TMRF certification with An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (CLRG). Her experience gives the academy a particularly welcoming approach to adult dancers and those discovering Irish Dance later in life.

Team dancing is an important part of the Bluegrass Ceili Academy tradition. Teams coached by Megan have achieved numerous Regional Championship titles and North American Championship success, while students also have opportunities to perform at festivals, schools and cultural events throughout Lexington and Central Kentucky.

Community involvement is central to the academy's mission. Through performances, workshops and outreach programs, Bluegrass Ceili Academy works to make Irish Dance accessible while helping students develop rhythm, teamwork, confidence, friendships and an appreciation for Irish music and culture.

Megan has also been recognized by Irish Dancing Magazine with an Excellence in Teaching Award, making this school especially meaningful to include in the IDM directory.
