Irish Dancing Magazine is thrilled to continue the tradition of honouring dance teachers. Now in its fourth year, the Excellence in Teaching Awards recognises extraordinary teachers across the globe. Prior recipients hailed from Ireland, England, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, and other parts of the world. The international spirit of Irish Dance has never been stronger, and these dance educators played a pivotal role in spreading the love of dance within their local communities and beyond.

In 2024 we are seeking dance teachers who possess most, if not all, of these attributes:

Community Champions: They are dedicated to their local communities through creative outreach programmes.
Mentors and Motivators: They bring out the best in their students, not just as dancers but as individuals.
Body Positivity Advocates: They foster a body-positive teaching style, promoting self-confidence and acceptance.
Mental Health Advocates: They prioritise their dancers' mental health and safety.
Champions of Equality: They are committed to anti-racism, equality and inclusion.
Life Changers: They make a significant difference in their dancers' lives, going above and beyond their roles as dance teachers.

Teachers may receive multiple nominations. Get your dance school involved TODAY! Don’t miss nominating a remarkable dance teacher. Prior recipients may be nominated again. Open to all dance organisations globally. Winners will receive coverage in Irish Dancing Magazine both print and online, a special award plaque, and help marketing their school locally through publicity in receiving this award. The 2024 award winning teachers will be announced in autumn 2024.
