I am a huge swiftie (Taylor Swift fan), so when I decided to enter this contest, I knew I had to use and redraw one of my Taylor swift inspired dresses! This last June, I decided to make 10 Taylor Swift inspired dress designs, one for each album. I decided on showing Midnights for this contest because the one year anniversary of her album Midnights being released will be on October 21. Some of the hidden references to Taylor in this design include:
- The Roman numeral for thirteen (Taylor’s lucky number) is hidden on the top part of the cape on the front of the dress
- The dress is heavily inspired by the outfits she wears during Bejeweled on The Eras Tour
- The symbols on the bottom of the sleeves include the colors to each of her 10 albums
- The raindrops on the back of the cape are not only a reference to her song Midnight rain and one of her outfits in the Bejeweled music video, but the colors of them also represent her other nine albums
- Midnights has been written on the bottom of the cape
- The neon lavender color on the back of the dress is a nod to her song Lavender haze and the jacket she wears during Lavender Haze on The Eras Tour
In conclusion, I have spent about 13 hours on this design! I am super proud of how it has come out and all of the hard work I have put into it. Please vote for my design!
