Celtic Hallows

Celtic Hallows
  • Contest: 2021 DESIGN-A-DRESS Contest
  • Full Name: Anya Roe
  • Country: USA
  • Story of Your Dress: This vest was inspired by my brother’s love of Harry Potter. The colors of the vest are the colors of Slytherin house, my brother’s house. I chose to do soft, curvy lines because my brother likes to say that not all slytherins are bad so I didn’t want harsh lines. I didn’t want the vest to be “in your face” Harry Potter so I chose an owl for the front. Owls not only have close ties with Harry Potter but they are also strong and graceful creatures. Two features that also describe my brother’s dancing. The symbol on the back is a Celtic knot version of the deathly hallows symbol from Harry Potter. The deathly hallows represent the three most powerful items in magic and together they are unstoppable, as is my brother.
