I really want to do teams at western regionals, this year in November, but I don't think my family can afford. For one thing my school is a small off shoot of the bigger school, and to do teams I would have to drive an hour every week, two months before regionals.I know that doesn't seem like a lot,but we can't afford the gas.Second I'll need a team dress. Then of course there are travel expense, and I suppose it costs money to enter regionals for teams.Does any body know how much it costs to enter for teams?Does anyone have any ideas about raising money to go.I really want to go,but it probably won't unless I can earn a whole bunch more money.

Perhaps there is somebody else you can car pool with from your school to get to class? Then you would only have to drive half as much...
And maybe you can borrow a teams dress just for the day. I'd say your teacher would be happy to try to help you cut costs in any way they can. I'd say that there probably isn't a way of getting around the fees and stuff, and as I live more than an hour and half away from my class too I don't actually do teams. Which brings me to another point: just remember that you do live an hour away from the class and teams are a big commitment so you can't really afford to miss any classes like you could with solos. Good luck ![]() |

Your school could put on shows at local venues and be paid to do that. Also, what my school did, was busking. It's great fun, and you do earn a bit of money. Another thing that you could do, is talk it over with your TC, and organise a Ceili Night, or an Irish Disco night. They could be fun. Good luck with it all. I hope it all works out for you!

Haha, busking is when you go into the mall or on the foot path and do something where people give you money. Have you ever seen a person playing an instrument in the mall or whatever? That's busking.

Oh,I see. that sounds fun,but guess what,we live in a real tiny town and there's not too many people or busy places.

well, on a personal level, you could try to do a lot of babysitting and odd jobs for people. when is your birthday? maybe you could ask family members for contributions.
or, if you want to get more girls involved, we did fundraiser stuff to send a girl to worlds by having a movie/dance night at our studio where we all danced around and watched a movie, and then we charged admission. we also sold t-shirts. hope this helps! believe me, im in the same boat as you. good luck, and i really hope it can all work out. |

*Ask your studio people if they have any old items and see if they will contribute, and than you can do a yard sale and maybe share the money
*look up butter braid fundraising. We did thhat for a workshop and for everyone we sold we got 5$ off. So ask if you can keep the money you get. They will probley say yes if it is for the team. *keep a change jar and don't use it to but things you don't need. *at your studio-- set up a change jar for the studio and if people contribute, see if you can use that money for costumes, so you can save on that *car wash in the busiest part of town Good Luck! |
